Vale Food Trail to Return for 2026
Vale Food Trail Returns for 2026:
- A two week celebration of food that is good for people, place and planet
- 24 May – 7 June 2026
The Vale Food Trail is officially back for 2026 – returning from 24 May to 7 June for its biggest and most flavour-packed year yet.
This much loved two week celebration of local food, farming, sustainability and community spirit will begin with the Cowbridge Food Festival (24-25 May) and close on Open Farm Sunday.
The 2026 Vale Food Trail builds on the success of recent years which have seen an estimated 1,000 visitors during both the 2024 and 2025 festivals.
Spanning locations across the Vale of Glamorgan, the trail invites people to explore farms, vineyards, food producers, cafés, restaurants, gardens and creative community spaces – all offering immersive, hands on experiences that showcase the very best of the Vale’s thriving food scene.
Pugh’s Garden Centre in Wenvoe, Amelia Trust Farm, Rosedew Farm, Llanblethian Orchards and Peterston Tea are already confirmed for the 2026 line up.
Local growers, producers, food businesses and community organisations are invited to apply to host an event as part of this year’s trail. Previous festivals have seen more than 30 local businesses taking part, benefitting from increased visibility, new customers and strong collaborative links across the region. The deadline for applications to take part is 27 February.
The 2026 programme will champion sustainable, seasonal and local food; connect visitors with producers; support the local food economy; and celebrate farming, biodiversity and low impact growing.
Previous years of the Vale Food Trail have spotlighted everything from sustainable farming practices and wildlifefriendly food production to artisan skills, local drinks, cultural events and handson family fun.
Highlights in 2024 and 2025 included: garden tours, “nodig” demos and forest garden workshops; vineyard tours, Welsh wine and cheese pairings, craft beer tastings and tea plantation tours; food festivals, live demos, interactive farm activities and producer markets; familyfriendly events including handson activities at Cowbridge Food & Drink Festival and picnics at local farms.
Louise Denham, Food Vale Coordinator, said: “Each year, the Vale Food Trail grows into something even more special. It brings our community together, celebrates the incredible producers right here on our doorstep, and shows how our food choices shape the world around us. We can’t wait to see the creativity our local businesses bring to the 2026 trail, and we’re excited to welcome visitors old and new to discover just how vibrant and diverse the Vale’s food scene truly is.”
The Vale Food Trail is delivered in partnership by Food Vale, Vale of Glamorgan Council, Visit the Vale, and Cywain.
