We support and deliver a range of projects to help ensure school children in the Vale have more opportunities to eat, grow and learn about good food.
Welsh Veg in Schools
Welsh Veg in Schools is a scheme coordinated by Food Sense Wales which aims to get more organic veg into local school meals. The Vale of Glamorgan has participated in the scheme since 2024, with local growers including Celtic Roots Farm and Goldsland Farm growing veg for the scheme.
Food & Nature School Sessions
The Food & Nature Sessions build on the Welsh Veg in Schools project by bringing local growers into schools to run a series of hands-on food-growing sessions that deepen both teachers’ and children’s understanding of nature, sustainability, and healthy eating through the act of growing food.
