Last week was the grand opening of Penarth FoodPod, the new pay as you can food pantry opening in the Pod at St Luke’s Avenue.
Residents were welcomed at the event and encouraged to buy some items from the pantry, learn more about the Clean Slate: Cleaner, Greener and Healthier program and the kids even got involved in carving a brilliant sign with the help of EggSeeds!
Thank you to Cllr Margaret Wilkinson (Gibbonsdown & Colcot Ward Councillors), Cllr Lis Burnett and Cllr Mark Wilson for attending the opening and cutting the ribbon.
“It was great to see a really good turnout from local residents with many taking away food bags of items from the newly launched Penarth Food Pod. This local facility will make a real difference to people living in the area with the Food Pod opening Monday and Friday each week from 2pm – 4pm”.
