Glamorgan Smallholders

Glamorgan Smallholders is a group for people interested in rural life in Glamorgan. Their aims are to network, support and inform members and the wider community about the role of small scale agricultural and horticultural operators.

Current members keep livestock – cattle, chickens, pigs, sheep and turkeys, whilst other members keep bees, alpacas and pigmy goats.  In addition, members include a cider maker and horticulturalists producing fruit, vegetables and flowers.  The interests of existing members include food production, ranging from sausages and charcuterie to jams, cakes and honey, and crafts such as spinning, soap production, beeswax wraps and candles.  Smallholders sell their produce directly through box schemes, online shops and local food and craft markets.

Glamorgan Smallholders are also involved in advocacy for the smallholder sector with the Welsh Assembly Government and in promoting the Food to Fork movement in Glamorgan.
