Pesto Pasta


150g pasta (any type you like)
60g grated low fat cheese (optional)
1 x 190g jar green pesto
160g cooked chicken / cooked ham


  1. Bring a pan of water to the boil and add the pasta. Cook per the packet instructions (usually 10-12 minutes)
  2. Grate the cheese and leave to one side
  3. Pour half the jar of the pesto into a saucepan and add the cooked chicken or ham
  4. Heat the pesto and meat over a medium heat until it starts to bubble.
  5. Reduce the heat and let simmer for 5 minutes – stirring from time to time. Add a little water if it starts to stick to the saucepan
  6. Once the pasta is cooked, drain it and add to the saucepan with the pesto
  7. Increase the heat and mix the ingredients together

* You can put the half full jar of pesto in the fridge to make the recipe again later in the week
